Sounds like things are going well with Nikki's recovery. As far as UV is concerned.....

If you are concerned because you are mainly taking her from her UV lit enclosure to outside/natural sunlight - don't be. She'll get more natural UV being outside than she'll ever get from equivalent amounts of time under ANY UV lamp. This goes for time spent in shade outside as well. Outside is ALWAYS better for UV. If you have the ability to keep her out all day then do it. Just make sure that she has room to get in out of direct sunlight so she won't overheat and that she has access to plenty of water.
If she's coming out to roam around the house then she'll be fine being away from it for an hour or so. Don't make it prolonged periods for now as she's trying to heal broken bones and you want to make sure that she's manufacturing enough D3 to utilize the calcium in her diet.

Just out of curiosity - what are you using for UV light? Brand/distance from Nikki ?

What are you feeding her for diet ?
