One determining factor would be the temperature you're creating in your ig's environment. Is it within the proper temp range? I'm with the others about a little "hidey" spot, but determine the amount of combined UV and incandescent warming lights by the temp in the cage, by using multiple temp guages throughout their big ig "condo" (yes, all the comforts... hehe). I also use ventilation, drawing heat from the lights on top of the condo down throughout, so I have two heat lights, and two UV lights. Hope that helps...
