It is NOT a good brand and barely puts out any UVB. It will hold you over until you can get a Zoomed Reptisun 5 light (cheaper online at herpsupplies.com or lllreptile.com)

They may improve. None of mine have ever had mites but they have had other injuries/burns. The scales never fully recovered but improved with each shed. From my experience banged up scales shed more often than healthy scales, but burned scales seemed to shed less than both.
