Hi,
I am sorry but it is impossible to diagnose what might be the problem with your Ig. From what you describe, I would doubt that it is mouth rot. It could however be an abscess, which is serious. Cancer while rare is possible. My oldest has a firm tissue growth in the same place you describe. Biopsies have been done with out exposing the cause of it. When it becomes large enough to cause him problems my vet removes it. This has been necessary every 1-2 years and I will have to get it done again this year. My best advice to you is to get it checked out by a good herp vet. Best of luck, Iguana03
