Your iguana or snake is safe to swim supervised in a made for human swimming pool but its best to make sure theyve defecated PRIOR to letting them in the pool, and they have been thoroughly rinsed off PRIOR and AFTER swimming. Prior to remove any residual fecal material on scales & claws, after to remove residual chemicals. I would never let an iguana in a swimming pool that was recently treated for chemicals for 24-48 hours following.
Also supervision is very important. Sometimes they may dive, if the pool is not heated that cooler water at the bottom could decrease their metabolic rate, respirations enough to drown them.

Its important to know your local laws regarding certain reptiles in public, and make sure your permits are IN hand! Displaying your reptiles in non-reptile public places is generally frowned upon but I have done so rarely tho. When I have my boa out at the beach or park she's always around my neck, my rough green around my wrist like a bracelet. My iggies are transported in carriers (1 goes at a time!!) and let them roam around scurrying after them to keep them from climbing up trees etc most of the time they just sit cuddled up next to me while I read, listen to music...what have you.
