Its up to you how long you run your Active UV lamp once you get it. You can use a flood as a basking light as well and run it 10 hrs a day (may have to play around with distance to ensure temps at basking level is at least 85 degrees there are distance charts at uvheat.com).....SUNSHINE exposure is ALWAYS preferred and its FREE!!! Sounds like the uvb lamp you run is basically supplemental to her sunshine exposure. With good sunshine exposure a couplea hours a week there is no need whatsoever for artificial uvb. Maybe wait until the winter months when artificial uvb is most needed. You can order Active UVHeat at their website www.uvheat.com or better yet wait and see if there are any reptile shows in your area in the upcoming months where you can get them for $10-15 less than mail order.
