There was a big discussion on the beardie forum awhile back on the chlorine issue. I know several people that let their igs swim in their pools and they seem fine. I always would rinse mine off out of paranoia. The majority of people seemed to think letting them swim in pools was a bad idea (for the animal's health as well as your own). Someone even posted a link to an article which makes me never want to swim in a public pool again (it went way beyond iguanas)--talking about all of the bacteria and germs chlorine DOES NOT KILL. It was a real eye opener. However, it is really a personal decision. After reading that webpage I'd be more inclined to worry about myself getting the runs after swimming WITH my iguana than any noticeable illness happening to my iguana!
