As this ig has been found outside, I was wondering if
you had the ig tested for parasites. I don't know if you
have any other lizards or not, and I'd be concern if this
new ig may have some and pass it to them, as well as
for the well-being of the ig itself. One iguana I know of
that was a rescue somehow had flukes (which attacks the liver
I believe-darn..where's my Klingenberg book!); this is
interesting as flukes requires an intermediate
host and I wonder wot the iguana could have ingested. Also,
my own iguana contracted hookworms last year from being
in the enclosure of an ig with hookworms. Them buggies
can sure be a pain! I'm just glad I was made aware of
it such that the it never got to a heavy infestation to
where my ig's health could have been compromised.
If you don't have a vet already, I have a great one down by
my neck of the woods in Redondo Beach -- Dr. Rosskopf at
Avian and Exotic Animal Hospital in Hawthorne.
