Hey you just described Miya the Mean~hehehe~ My husband often teases about finding a chicken of the tree recipe~LOL~ On a serious note~ It takes alot of patience!~ Plus sometimes Iggys are just mean~ You just have to love them inspite of there meaness~ have you had a vet look at him?Has he always been mean? Miya wasn't mean until breeding season~ Thats when he decided Nobody was aloud in his cage!AND that goes for hands too!~ He bit into me a couple times and it was far from pleasant~ He also lunges at my head~ Oh he is so much fun!~ The answer~ GET GLOVES!LOL~ also holding him and showing him you are the dominant one~ I actually got this to work on Miya by taking him out and when he freaked out(as he usually does) by crock rolling and whipping and thrashing i had to put him in what i call the iggy hold~ basically holding his back legs with one hand,tail under arm and holding his body with other hand(note use gloves if you have not trimmed nails) do not let him win the battle~ I say in a Loud voice"NO MIYA BAD" he seems to respond to this~ One time he even let me cut his nails with no fight!! But you have to be repetitve and you have to always reinforce that you are the dominate one~ So taming them is a lifelong thing~ I tend to be to lax with Miya as If he is in a bad mood i let him be and if he claws to come out i let him as long as he behaves~ I kinda have just accepted his meaness and expect it~LOL~ Good luck to you~ Try not to get bitten~ it hurts!!OWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!

: Any advice on taming mean igs? He is healthy,eats like a horse and bites like a pit bull. Aprox. 8 mths old, 2 ft+ long. Will he tame with patience or should I look for fried lizard recipe. (just kidding for those with no sense of humor)
