Hi Andrew,
Yes the cage size will be sufficient. This is especially true if you include 'some' free roam time in the regular schedule. As for your heat problem. Since he will not spend much time in the bottom it is not an absolute that the temps be raised. However, if possible I would agree that they should be. One solution is to replace some of the wire with Plexiglas while making sure some ventilation is left at the top especially. Another is one, which I have used with partially enclosed cages as described above and that is with the use of a small space heater. EXTREM caution here. The heater may be placed outside the cage blowing into the cage or in the cage. Either way safety should be the utmost concern. Use a small heater with is thermostatically controlled and with a 500 or 1000 watt rating. Use one that is safe to touch and if it is placed inside the cage build a screen housing around it so that your Ig can't get to it. I am not set up as you are as I have a room with my Igs in it, but I try to keep ambient air temps in the low to mid 80s at night and high 80s low 90s daytime. Of course they also have basking areas with temps reaching mid 90s and high 90s during the summer months. I hope this helped some. Happy Herping, Iguana03
