I have a (probably) pretty simple question for all you ig experts out there. I just got a cage for christmas that will probably suffice for the rest of Sampson's life(if I'm wrong, please tell me). Sampson is only about 18 in. long. The cage is about 5 1/2 ft. tall, 5 ft. wide, and 3 ft. deep. It is made of 2x4's and a very heavy duty rabbit wire. The problem is the all around temperature. I have been testing the temperature in it for the last few weeks(without Sampson in it)and found the basking spot to be just about right, 96 degrees. But the bottom of the cage, it is only around 74 degrees all day long. Is this ok? I even put a thick plasctic around the bottom half of the cage to act as a insulation, but this doesn't seem to work... Any ideas????
