i was recently sold a "water dragon" i didnt get a good look at him before they packed him up to go home, i thought the color was a little of but they may have veriations like ig's do.
any way, he's about a dark green with light green stripes, he has the grey striped tail that an ig has, and the head of an ig, but he has no throat pouch thingie. he also has that bump behind his head that ig's do, but to my knowledge iguana's dont, his coloration, isnt muck like an ig, and he wont eat much friut and things, he likes crickets, i thought he was a water dragon untill i took him to the vet, the vet said that he has rickets, and that he was almost a hatchling, and that she wasnt sure because of his age, but he looked more like a green ig, than a water dragon, but theres not much difference at that age, if he was an ig, that would explain how the rickets got there, because, his lighting was adequate, and if he is an ig, the rickets come from improper diet, but still in all, drake is a verry sick little baby, his bones are so brittle, that his tail broke while he was climbing a plant, and i have to prevent him from growing, or his ribs may break in the process. the vet has given him lots of shots and meds, and ive been instructed on how to feed him greens through an oral syringe by pureeing them, any way, my little baby and i mean baby, he's so young that i have to teach him to move to the warm side when he is cold. any way my poor little babys got a rough life ahead of him and i was wondering if any of you guys have any suggestions on how i can make it easier for him, and some info on how to identify him, before too long, so i can give him the right kind of care, and just to make sure that baby drake isnt something completely different from what ive been told. could some one tell me if its possible for him to be a mix of some sort? that would explain alot!
please mail me if you have any suggestions,
confused mommy,
