medical advice

i have an iggy i have had for years, he just moved into a new big cage, the problem is he rubbed his head on a rough spot (fixed that) and ripped off the skin on the top of his head, i was a vet tech, so i knew how to clean it and stuff. we are going to see the vet in the morning for anti biotics to be safe, but anything i should sugest or be worried about? (my vet is cat and dog only, i am there reptile consultant)
