In Reply to: offbeat question - iggies and bruising? posted by Sharon on July 19, 2001 at 13:09:49:
Not sure but I think so. Here's why...
My ig was roughly played w/ by our dogs. One dog picked him up and trotted across the yard w/ him. After I got the ig from the dog I noticed 2 small scrapes on one of his sides from the canines of the dog. I treated the scrapes and within a day or so the spots turned purple. I was assuming these were bruises. He did not receive any medical attention but I did call the vet who was more worried about bleeding than anything (no blood though). It's been a little over a week now and the spots have faded but he has also went thru a shed since so this could be the reason for the fading. If anyone else knows or has a guess as to what the purple spots could be please let me know but as of now I'm guessing bruises.
: Having a debate with someone over this...
: Do iguanas get bruised, and if so - what would it look like and would medical attention be needed?
: I'll explain it all later.
: Thanks!
