So your close to Indiana?? I live in Indiana and have a few favorite places for ig stuff...
For decorations in Jades cage I bought tons of bundles of plastic green leaves, 4' green vines and bought bundles of red, white and cream flowers. I used large staples and stapled the bundles of leaves all over the walls and placed some around on the floor of the enclosure. The vines I draped above the door and window and I cut the flowers off (leaving about 3" of stem) and mixed them all around in the bundled leaves (using large staples to secure them). I have so many leaves, vines and flowers in the cage it almost looks like a jungle...lol. All these can be bought at the Dollar Tree for $1 a bundle/vine.
I used 2x4's for climbing stuff. You can take a 2x4 and wrap it in the indoor/outdoor carpeting that is used for reptile substrate. Then you can wrap them in plastic leafy vines for a more realistic look (I haven't did this yet but plan to do so very soon). The carpeting I used for substrate is the same exact stuff you see hanging in Petsmarts reptile section for reptile substrate. Petsmart sells a small piece for about $15. You can go to Lowe's and buy a 6'x20' for about $20. The carpeting can be washed and reused but I bought a large piece so I can change it out frequently. You can get the lighting for the heat bulbs at lowes for about 1/2 the price Petsmart sales them for and the fixtures for the UV bulbs are also sold at Lowes for a cheaper price. Petsmart is the only place I've bought the UV tube from though.
For greens/veggies I've found that Kroger is the only one in our area that has ig greens. That's where I get turnip, mustard and collard greens, water cress, cilantro, egg plant, squashes, green beans, bell pepper (mine love this) and other veggies (I can't think of them all right now but Kroger has a good selection). I get dandelion greens from our yard (it's not treated for anything ever and is safe). As for alfalfa pellets don't waste your money unless you have cats...we buy these in 50lb bags and use it for cat litter (cheap, smells much better and works as a good fertilizer when the cats are done w/ it), I tried seeing if Jade would eat them just outa curiosity...he never touched them. I'm sure after getting your spoiled ig on a good diet your going to start noticing drastic changes. And of course we want to see lots of pics of your ig and it's home.:)
