There is a reptile nail clipper that works well. I think Four Paws makes it. They don't like their nails cut just like a dog, but I think they will be better off for it. If your nails were that long, you'd be breaking them all the time too.

Sometimes, I use mild sandpaper to buff the nails if I am going to be holding the iguana for a long time.
