Well, it sounds like your igg has taken quite nicely to you, so keep doing what you're doing and the most important thing is to be patient and DON"T GIVE UP. He's still a young "whipper-snapper" (as young iggs usually ~and literally~ are) and it will take him growing up with you to calm him down, then he may still be only nice to you....but you never know. Taming is definitely NOT and overnight process, so he'll become more comfortalbe with you and others at his own pace. Take care and keep us informed! :-)~
Hi, about 4 months ago I got my first Iguana, named Guar. I adopted him from a family in my town who was terrified of him!
: He is about 1 foot and a half long. But they hadn't handled him in a year or so, and he is the direct opposit of tame. He is starting to calm down, he will let me pet him, he'll perch on my shoulers, and eat out of my hand, but he only does this for me. If anyone else tries to touch him, he either bites or whips them. How can I tame this unruly little lizard so that everyone can handle him, I have got him a leash, but he's afraid of it.
: I really need to get him tam. He spends most of the day with me, so why hasn't he mellowed out?
: Thanx for any help.
