another ? (I'm full of them today ;))...this time about bath

I've read that ig's do not soak things up thru their skin (vitamin sprays, etc)...if they don't then how does soaking in the bath tub help to keep them from dehydrating unless they drink the water while they're in it?? I can see how it would help them shed but for over all hydration I don't get it :confused:
