Keeping in mind that most of the iguanas here come in pretty sick (we are a very small informal rescue), they are all pretty durn handsome and well toned. We do feed kale and a few other foods that aren't fantastic but we never feed them more than once a month if that. In fact, the last time we even had kale for them was atleast 4 months ago.
I have to say we don't really go out of our way to avoid anything -with the exception of onions. On the other hand, we either don't all together or don't frequently use these foods either:
spinach
beets
swiss chard
dock
sorrel
kale
carrot tops
broccoli
bok-choi
turnip
Brussel sprouts
cauliflower
rutabaga
tofu
banana
Since we don't follow any particular "iguana diet", like the ones found on the net and in books, I have to say, with the exception of collards, dandelion, mustard and turnips greens -we don't feed anything as a standard. We provide as much variety as is possible through availability.
