Please forgive me if this is a bit short, Mike but once midnight hits I start getting really fuzzy.... Sounds like a 1st vet check would be in order for Jupiter. You could have the nail looked at, bloodwork done to examine Ca/P and alllll of the other good stuff, and just a general once over. Honestly, I wouldn't want to makea guess at the nail w/o at least seeing a pic.
As far as dusting Jupiter's food, if you think that there are any signs of MBD it wouldn't hurt until you got him to a vet. Once his Calcium level is determined you can then judge whether or not supplimentation is needed. Around here, unless there are obvious health issues, we have beenfortunate enough to be able to keep high levels of Ca in our igs simply with good diet.
Sounds like you're on the right track with the enclosure as well. Careful with the wood that you choose, make sure that you get at least 4 coats of poly on it - try to use a product that doesn't break down quickly under UV light. And, if you have the room forit now, youmay as well build it for a full grown ig. Do it right the first time and you'll never have to do it again....;)
Good luck !!
