a missed recue

I just got off the phone with what was the most pathetic excuse for an iggy owner I have ever talked to. This guy got my number through a friend of my wife(we kinda run an adoption/collection program). After a lengthy conversation about the general health of his iggy, I asked if we could come pick it up. He then offerd to sell it to me for $100. I briefly told him that not only would we pay that for an unhealthy specimen but we have our pick of orphaned ones for free(we rescue). He then gave me the excuse that he needed money and wanted a small iggy instead. I advised him to not only give me the one he had but to not get an animal unless he had the financial ability to take care of it until it dies of old age. He didn't go for it. This poor animal will be pawned of on the first person to offer this guy money for it. Just thought I would vent my fustrations to people who would understand. Thank you.
