I had one of mine trained to eat off the floor but even then he would eat better if his plate was placed high. Maybe you could build an intermediate height shelf if the basking location is not an option. I think feeding from heights is just much more natural for them than from low locations. If you insist on feeding from the floor you must be more stubborn than he is inorder to get him trained. If he is healthy he can do OK without ANY food for a week or two.Hope I helped some. Talk about spoiled igs, ours lays on her royal pillow in the window with both her front legs thrown back as we hold her magesty's plate for her.Igs will have you trained in no time, so dn't worry they'll be patient with you till you learn what "THEY"want. Good luck!
