AnIguana harmess is a good idea, we have a 5 yr.old female Jo, and we used it on her when she was months old. Durning her first winter, I would put it on her , place newspaper in the middle of the room with a heavy rock in the center of the nespaper. With Jo at one end, she would go on the newspaper, as soon as she would go I would clean the mess and would leave her on it for awhile. In summer , I would take her outside and tide her up to a swing set, she would go outside, now we have not used a harness on her for over 3 yrs. and we take her outside for walks, she's kind of slow. She go's on the newspaper, we keep newspaper by the back door durning the winter, where she'll go. She runs lose around the house, she has her own spot with her lights etc. She thinks she's a dog.
Try the newspaper, Jo has never messed up on our carpets or floor. Good luck
