Hi, Matt..you will probably get a lot of responses on this question, also probably something different and varying every time. At juvenile size (3-9 months) you could take it to a qualified herp vet and have it probed to determine sex, possibly earlier but I have known no one who has actually done this. If you are like me and don't mind "waiting it out", then at about 12-24 months you may begin to notice morphological and behavioral indications of what sex your igg is. The major biggy is the femoral pores beneath the legs following from the vent area. MAles have very large, often open pores with glandular secretions at sexual maturity -18 months to 4 yrs-while females have smaller pores that remain closed and about the size of toothpick tips, maybe a little larger. Just from observation, males tend to bob their heads more regularly while females do this very occasionally; females tend to have slimmer, more slender heads and bodies while males develop big jowles that widen the head quite a bit and have wider body shape also. I'm sure there are other things but can't think of them at the moment...should be working right now, not playing!...but it should be a start, unless you prefer to have it medically sexed. Sorry so long but I had to be the first to respond so I would finally have something to say before everyone else got to the question! :)
