When I was 17 and in school (about 6 years ago before I knew anything about iggs), we had a class reptile that I helped take care of, and it had a serious case of mouthrot due to a powdered food our teacher was giving it and lack of humidity. We mixed one part 2% H2O2 with about three parts water and used a q-tip to dab the affected area. After about two weeks the rot had healed up and we began feeding it better food...no apparent "reaction" to H2O2 so I don't see why it would be harmful, unless highly concentrated. It worked really well for us and I use it for my cat's wounds, too. Just my thoughts on the subject..take care all.
: Hey there,
: There has been a question brought up in another forum, and I just wanted to see what you all thought about this.
: Is hydrogen peroxide harmful for reptiles?? My vet told me to clean the tip of my anoles tail with peroxide and then put the neosporin over it. Which I did and her tail healed beautifully
:
: Someone on another forum said peroxide is a no-no, that it is very harmful to reptiles skin and that it stings them. I can't see why it would hurt them, it is 97% water.
: What do you think?
: Thanks
: Boo
