I wouldn't use a bird cage because unless the entire room is kept at 80 degrees with 80 percent humidity, you wouldn't be able to heat his cage properly because it is made of wire, not enclosed. You'd have an even worse time holding the humidity level up with a bird cage. Almost impossible I would think in a dry room.
