Salmonella info (Help needed)

I wondered if anyone can offer some advice or quote websites that have info

There are a few anti groups as we call them in the UK, that would not only like to see Iguanas banned but also all reptiles, and one of the arguments they use is of the Salmonella threat (exagerated)
looking for info on actual Illnesses and/or deaths atributed to Reptile salmonella as opposed to food etc, and also is it poss for Salmonella and Meningitis to be linked, ie: for Salmonella to cause, or lead onto Meningitis, can be US info no probs
