welll it's good to hear you've got a vet to work with ~ scary to hear that even he is stumped ...

lemme think out loud here ok??
igs heal very slowly cuz they're cold-blooded, wounds look to be quite deep + so will take a VERY long time to fully heal ~ possibly it is *not* a sign of zero progress that they continue to seep??? is the amount of seepage reduced from what it was???

the daily bath/betadine sounds good ... wonder about using ab *cream* instead of ointment???? my thought being that the cream would maybe allow the wounds/scabs to more thoroughly dry??? something to ask the vet about ~ i'm just thinking out loud remember ...

could very well BE chemical burns from the past owner's attempts to get rid of mites ... perhaps knowing exactly WHAT she used would help decide how to treat??? or possibly help decide if this is indeed burns??

ok ~ where to find really experienced ig-vets to consult with??? i have an email addy i'll send you for one ... another thought is that Doug Mader is accessable thru ummm... "Reptiles" magazine???? perhaps has an email addy can find on-line??????? the "VIN" pet care site @ VIN ... check out the ARAV site gina gave you + might find someone who will consult with your vet ...
try the AVMA @ AVMA

you've got a long haul ahead of you with this poor thiing and i wish you the best!
Bon.
