Good to have you here! Im sorry for the loss of your good friends.....and happy to see you give this little one a chance at a great life with you! All igs are different (disposition wise) and sounds like you got yerself a sweetie alright! Majority of iguanas are imports from iguana farms in El Salvador (a sub-tropical country). Chronic dehydration is still one of the biggest causes of illness & death in iguanas. Humidity in the 80-90% range 24/7 is important but difficult to achieve. Misting frequently throughout the day with warm water, baths,increasing his water intake by spraying his food with water, running a humidifier all help keep him hydrated. Most of the time iguanas are 90% inactive....basking under hot lights 10-12 hours a day...losing moisture thru their skin and breath....so you see how WATER is important to their well being.
