I don't think you will be doing any psychological damage by swaddling him with a towel ;-) ...keep the associations with you pleasant. Below is a website on iguana taming you might find interesting...how old/big is he? If he's a little one I sure would NOT let him "run around" Keep your handling sessions to 15-30 minutes max a day.....increasing the time 15 minutes every 2 weeks.
