..they may of course get some down their throat, but the times I've SEEN them get them in their mouth I HAVE seen them spit it out again. Also, working a couple of years as head of X-ray at an animal hospital, I know that pine bark is VERY hard to see on X-ray, other than with bariumsulphate or equal contrast(?) liquids.
But, AGAIN, I'm NOT preaching for the use of the substrates that may be dangerous ( I feel like a writing like a parrot talk now:-) )
By the way, thanks for the good words on the viv's, as you call them ( that's probably the right word for them ). In squaremeters they are around 25 and 35 m2.
