You've got a lot of research ahead of you...;) The most immediate thing to figure out is exactly what you have for lights...UV lights, with the single exception of an ActiveUV light, are fluorescent tube shape i.e. long and thin. ZooMed's ReptiSun 5.0 and IguanaLight 5.0 are the best on the market so far. FYI, these are the same exact bulb - just different packaging.
Check out HerpSupplies.com. They can save you a ton of money once you know what you're looking for. We've met the owner - great guy. We do all of our iguana business thourhg them exclusively.
Definitely get rid of the heat rock. No one's really bothered to improve on the design at all and they can be very dangerous for igs. Heat rocks tend to develop "hot spots" on the surface. Combine that with the fact that they usually have no safety measures built in to them (although some come with rheostats) and you're just asking for trouble....
While diets and salads have their place in iguana husbandry, we personally feel that a good variety of foods is the key to a healthy ig.
If you're actually dedicating an entire room to your ig you can set the room up to let it "free roam". This, in the long run, is the best possible scenario for a captive iguana. The more room the better. If your'e concerned about humidity, you can run a humidifier in there regardless of whether you keep it in it's enclosure or not.
MK's site, Jen Swofford's site, James Hatfield's book are all excellent places to start. Feel free to use our site as a jumping off point on the way to more in-depth research if you like....
Good luck and feel free to come back with more questions....
