If you are going to take this approach, I would add very minimal crumbles of the cat food just so he has a recognizable flavor until you get him off it ASAP! And, try adding some yummy fruit bits-- if you find something else he really likes, it will be easier to tempt him away from the catfood. Although fruit shouldn't be a large portion of the diet, it is far better than cat food. Bananas should rarely be used, but igs love them so I would try small banana bits, blueberries, watermelon, cantelope, etc on top of his collards & other greens. If he is anything like my iguana, he will freak out for the fruit! Maybe he'd take some wheat bread crumbles over his salad instead of the catfood as well.
