I'm so glad you posted this question! I have been wondering the same thing, since Bobbit bobs so much, that's partly how he got his name!
He bobs at the grass, at insects, at candy bars and at books. He bobs at me, at the cats, at Habib, and at the printer. He bobs at other people in cars on the freeway, at his collard greens, and at his heating pad. He just likes to bob!
He has never once even made a motion like he was going to bite one of us, and he has never whipped his tail or done anything even mildly aggressive...he just is a bobber!
I'm glad to learn that bobbing can be a form of a greeting, and isn't always necessarily an aggressive thing.
Thanks again for posting such a good question, and also to all of you who answered it. You've helped me with Iguana Psychology 101.
