If you wanted to take both with you, Hazel, if there will be room in the vehicle (if you're driving) invest in two Rubbermaid type containers to hold both of them in. For the few days that you'll be travelling, two human heating pads should be fine (I'm going to duck as soon as this posts due to the current debate....;)~....) There are also "power inverters" that you can buy ($40-$300... places like Crutchfield, Radio Shack, maybe even Wal-Mart) and plug into a cigarette lighter. These will give you a 110 volt outlet (more than one if you buy the correct inverter) which will allow you to keep them warm for the few days that they're travelling. Stops to supermarkets along the way will not only give you a break from driving but will also give them the opportunity to get fresh veggies and water. At night in hotels, slide them in with your luggage and plug the pads in. As long as you keep a close eye on the pads things should go OK. Just make sure that the ig enclosures are the last things on the truck when you leave point A as you'll want them to be first off at point B.
If you'd still rather put one up for adoption I'm sure that people out here will be able to assist you in that department as well...;)
Good Luck !!
