After the midnight excursion to a vet 40 miles away back in February who, after x rays and bloodwork, came to the conclusion that Mel was just "constipated" we took Mel to our regular vet today. She's been drinking a lot the last week or so, not eating much, and pooping very little. Rambunctious as all get out - in fact, we came home last night and had to look for her for an hour before finally finding her sound asleep inside a coffee table.
WELLLllllllll..... After an x ray today we count approximately 40 eggs... Don't know how the "other" vet missed it but he'll be getting a phone call tomorrow.... Mel's going in for surgery on Tuesday to have *everything* removed as we were beginning to see eggs forming back in October and medical opinions were that she had absorbed them. We figure that it's the best course of action because we don't want her going through this every year and after this much time we can't be sure that there isn't any kind of damage i.e. broken eggs etc., unless we go in and look.
Anyone know the best way to take a "picture" of an x ray ? Do they scan well at all ?
