Just a suggested idea, since a good humidifier should increase the humidity level in the air, I'm not sure testing for dampness is the right approach. Travis, I think you should consider using a humidity measuring device vs your fruit of the loom briefs. A way to test this would be to confine the humidifiers in a closed room or small space and then run a time test and use a humidity gauge to measure the levels in the enclosed room.
Here's why....I can stand outside when it's 95% humidity....holding a pair of briefs and the result would be dry briefs.
Humidifiers should not dump moisture out, if they do it will drop to the ground since it will be heavier than air.
Just my opinion and suggestions
