It is pretty much impossible to sex baby iguanas. Many owners find they must change names after a couple of years.... Sometime around 2 yrs, you can begin to see secondary sex characteristics which are fairly reliable. Females heads are more streamlined, femoral pores are small, no "jowls". Males may develop orange colors, develop "jowls", have enlarged and distinct femoral pores, and enlarged nuchal crests. (neck crests)
