Here's Chuck's new perch (under construction!!)

As you can see, its a big one! I have a lot of work to do on it still, with 2 more levels to add and lots of details to finish up. It is 6 feet tall, the vertical posts are 4 feet apart, and the top level is 6 feet across. UVB light is about 12 inches from the top level, where Chuck usually likes to hang out. In this pic, I didnt have the basking light in place yet, but it is there now. There is also a heating pad (for a lil extra night time warmth) and Chuck's favorite towel on the top level.

So far I have used 1/2" particle board, several 2x4's, lots of screws and staples, and a bunch of carpet. I did get the carpet for 23 cents per square foot though, so I'm pretty happy about that.

Chuck is already getting used to it, even though I figured he would ignore it for a few days. He has another perch in my bedroom for when he gets sick of humans :-)
