I would think that if you give the enclosure a good scrubbing, let it dry thoroughly, and then seal it with a few coats of poly that should accomplish several things. 1.) It should remove many, if not all, of the hiding places for mites in general. 2.) It would suffocate any potential eggs that were left behind due to entrapment within the sealant.
As far as the ig itself is concerned.... I don't think I'd use the poly on him/her...;)Seriously though, HD and Craig are right...It could very well take a few treatments/weeks to get rid of them.
