I see significant damage in a couple areas within the black spots-- and that will probably remain scarred (scars and burns never completely go away although they improve with every shed) Whenever you see the actual scale itself broken up into smaller pieces, it will remain that way forever-- at least that is the experience I have had with my iguanas. However, some of the scales within the black areas look like they are intact, so there is hope for those areas healing completely. (that blackness really confounds me though-- is it a type of thermal burn or some kind of fungus/virus?)
