Thank you for the suggestions, I'll keep towels handy while "salmo" is with me. Also I found out that Merideth is the FOURTH owner this iguana has had! Unfortunately her and her boyfriend are busy people (work/school/family) and as much as they hate to do it they may have to give salmo to someone else:*>( I think if things go well with salmo this week I am going to talk to them about keeping her they kind of hinted about it today. I would need a proper cage with lights and everything but I'm sure they would hold onto her until I got everything set up and ready.
Thanks for your advice, I'll keep you all posted as to how things go, Todd
: Be prepared for this iguana to be a little stressed out with new surroundings. It may not want to eat for a day or two. Not only will it's owner be not around but it will also be in a new environment. Some iguanas can handle this change, others can not. If it starts to freak out some, have some safe guards in place to handle it. If it will have a cage to stay in, have towels ready to cover the cage if need be. You may need to find a quiet room to put the cage in too.
: Within the first 6 hours you should know if it will handle being at your house or not. Ask your friend to provide you with some things the iguana is use to, such as a little pillow, which we use on some of our iguanas. Or a small branch or towel. If your friend would rub a towel all over their body (naked) this would leave their scent on the towel and putting that towel in with the iguana while it's at your house might help. Iguanas have great smell by way of tongue flicking and this iguana should know it's owner's smell by now.
