Be prepared for this iguana to be a little stressed out with new surroundings. It may not want to eat for a day or two. Not only will it's owner be not around but it will also be in a new environment. Some iguanas can handle this change, others can not. If it starts to freak out some, have some safe guards in place to handle it. If it will have a cage to stay in, have towels ready to cover the cage if need be. You may need to find a quiet room to put the cage in too.
Within the first 6 hours you should know if it will handle being at your house or not. Ask your friend to provide you with some things the iguana is use to, such as a little pillow, which we use on some of our iguanas. Or a small branch or towel. If your friend would rub a towel all over their body (naked) this would leave their scent on the towel and putting that towel in with the iguana while it's at your house might help. Iguanas have great smell by way of tongue flicking and this iguana should know it's owner's smell by now.
Best wishes,
HD
