Iguanas produce a chemical that stops the bleeding when a tail section comes off. You never want to close the open area of a tail break. As I had spoke with you about tails having 4 to 5 break off sections, these areas are where the chemical is focused on when needed. When something grabs the iguana's tail, if the iguana believes there is a high risk, they will produce this chemical which at the same time will cause the tail to break at one of the section joints. As with before I recommend that your Vet find one of these locations and cut there instead of between sections.
