Sounds like you have a good vet... That's great. Lucy will be fine with a shorter tail. You'll probably get some regrowth, too. Bug is missing about 8 inches of his tail, and the only thing that changed is that his reach when he tries to slap me is 8 inches less. Shorter tails do have advantages...
