Hello from the island, and welcome to the forum.
As for reptile rescues, being in Vancouver I am assuming that you know about the "Rainforest Reptile Refuge Society" in Surrey? I may have read somewhere that they do not adopt out, but they certainly need volunteers and have lots of igs and other reptiles. Their phone number is 538-1711. If they do not adopt out, I'm sure they could tell you if there is anyone nearby who does. The only place I am aware of is in Campbell River on the island here.
When the time for adopting comes you could always leave your name and number with the SPCA...I know that they get calls ALL THE TIME looking for homes for igs.....they almost always are euthanized. The SPCA does not have the facilities or knowledge to house them even for short periods of time. :o(
