Hi,
I have read that it is a life threating fungi. However, I don't think it true. One thought of some vets is that it is a self limiting form of ring worm which requires no treatment. My recently departed Xaveir had these colorations and his death was due to most likely kidney failure. My personal thoughts are that if the skin feels normal (not raised) then it is probably of no consequence. I have another which seems to be developing these spots at 8 yrs and she seems perfectly healthy. If you discover anything conclusive please let us know.
Happy Herping, Iguana03
