In Reply to: Iguana closes eyes when petted!! posted by Stereotype on February 11, 2001 at 22:59:28:
Well I was asking the question. We have only had DOuble D for a little over a week, hes a approx 3 yr old rescue. He dosent try to run away when we are petting him and seems to lean into us petting him. The first day or two he was worried and anxiouse when we were near him, now he seems to come to us,Infact tonight when on his leash for the first time he came running from the other side of the room to climb up on my lap :o). It must mean he likes it then as he does seem happy to see us, and isnt scared like he use to.
: When an Iguana closes it's eyes during petting it dosen't always me they like it some do it because they are scared or afraid, and just close them so that you dissapear and they can't see you then.. but it sometime's means they like it.. but If your Iguana is not usually happy when you approach them and you pet them and there eyes close, then take it as a sign that the they are just closing there eyes to make you dissapear..
