Actually, Travis, one of the main reasons I want to get her out of Petco as their display model is precisely because the manager there told me that she's been really good for sales because the kids see her and want to buy and iguana. That's one of the reasons why the manager there told me she's not for sale. He said they wanted to keep her around as a sort of display model because she captures the attention of the kids.
I hated to think that her dismal life is going to be the cause of other iguanas having a dismal life. Hear me out: The kids see how the set-up is there at Petco, (small tank, repti-bark, dog bowl, lettuce, etc.) and say "Mom, I want an iguana. See how cool that big one is! It looks like a little dinosaur! Let's buy one!" and so the mom buys an iguana, a tank, a hot rock, some bark and a dog bowl and goes home thinking she's done her child a service by getting them the cool new pet they wanted. On and one goes the sad stories...
If I could get the store to give her up, there'd be one less poor example of iguana husbandry, and one less sickly iguana who is living out a sad existence.
All this being said, I can still see your point, and I'm grateful you voiced your opinion and concerns.
