eating shed (no, not me) lol

Have a question ... I've looked a few places and have found no info. I've read that geckos eat their shed and that it is actualy good for them however is the same true for iguanas? I've seen Dharma nibble at the shed coming off her foot -even when there is a bowl of her favorite food sitting next to her. At first I was thinking that she was just using her mouth to help get it off but then I noticed that she had actualy eaten it. Anyone have any info on this type of thing?
